The Maasai Mara, also known simply as the Mara, is a world-renowned wildlife reserve located in southwestern Kenya, adjacent to the border with Tanzania. It situated in the Great Rift Valley region of Kenya, covering an area of approximately 1,510 square kilometers (580 square miles). It is part of the larger Mara-Serengeti ecosystem, which extends into Tanzania's Serengeti National Park.
