Located in northern Tanzania, approximately 120 kilometers
southwest of Arusha, the gateway to Tanzania's northern safari
circuit. It covers an area of about 2,850 square kilometers.
Tarangire National Park is famous for hosting the second-largest
migration of wildebeests and zebras in Tanzania, but it is perhaps
best known for its large population of elephants. During the dry
season, thousands of elephants migrate to the park in search of
water, providing visitors with excellent opportunities for
elephant viewing and photography. Also, Tarangire River, which
flows through the park and ancient baobab trees.
Visitors to Tarangire National Park can enjoy a variety of
activities, including game drives, guided walking safaris, and
birdwatching excursions. Night drives and balloon safaris are
also available in some areas of the park.
